Japan Design Committee is pleased to present the 794th Design Gallery 1953 Exhibition, focusing on “Ambientec,” a Japanese portable lighting brand, exploring the essence on the structure and philosophy of its products.
This exhibition will highlight Ambientec’s unique designs that go beyond the conventional perception of lighting, creating light that resonates with sensibility, and how they realize the illumination envisioned with designers.
Furthermore, it will showcase and explain the diverse technical capabilities and processes involved in creating highly aesthetic products that stand in living spaces like objects, through exhibits of their usually unseen internal structures and components.
Please come and see the fusion of technology and design that runs through every detail of Ambientec’s craftsmanship.
Message from Ichiro Iwasaki, Exhibition Director
Gazing at a light I serendipitously encounter in a foreign land, Ambientec’s lamps often emerges. Each instance is comforting, resonating with the cityscape, people, and emotions, touching the heart with afterglow of light. You can catch a glimpse of the philosophy, sensibility, and technology embedded in the craftsmanship of this Japanese light, which colors daily life around the world.
